Monopaints is a series of small to medium color studies created adjacent to and in dialogue with my larger bodies of work since the Vulcan Chess series of 2016.
 
Connected through the familial paints and palettes of the other works, each Monopaint has a unique personality and explores ethereal texture, dueling forms, and an abundance of luscious, dynamic color.
 
Inspired by printmaking’s monoprint process, where each image is unique, I named these spontaneous, residue-dependent lovelies "Monopaints." 
 
V.E. stands for Varied Edition, meaning (like monoprints) each painting is unique within its edition.
